Alert! Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition Does Not Tele-Market

A group, calling themselves a coalition against breast cancer, has saturated our area with cold calls soliciting money, stating that they represent the “local” breast cancer coalition. Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition president Laura Weinberg says, “The Great Neck Breast Cancer Coalition has never, ever solicited contributions by phone. Sadly, our donations, which come chiefly through neighborhood programs and get channeled entirely into services, support and research, are diminished by such organizations.” She adds that people targeted by these calls have reported harassing tones and a refusal to divulge the organization’s location or the name of its president.
